ARE ALL SINS EQUAL IN THE EYES OF GOD? (Bible Issues)

ARE ALL SINS EQUAL IN THE EYES OF GOD? (Bible Issues)

Some believe “a sin is a sin,” meaning all sins are equally bad in God’s eyes. The good news? The Bible has the answer. Let’s consider:

First, well-intended “All sins are the same-ers” assume since one offense separates man from God, (the cause of spiritual death), all are equal.

Indeed, a single transgression uncleansed by Jesus’s blood forever condemns. God warned his first created humans, “From the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat…day…you eat…you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17). When the devil appeared as a snake and tempted Eve to partake, she protested, “God said, you shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die” (Genesis 3). Satan said  she wouldn’t die, but attain God-like wisdom.  The mother of all living and her husband consumed the forbidden fruit and suffered sudden separation from their creator. THE DANGER OF FORNICATION

THE DANGER OF FORNICATION

A Christian college psychology professor and counselor said in a private conversation that he believes 100% of those in relationships are sexually active. If he is even close to accurate, intimacy outside of marriage is now the norm, even for Christians, and much teaching on fornication is desperately needed.

IS BEING DIVORCED A SIN?

IS BEING DIVORCED A SIN?

A nearby congregation added another manmade burden on divorced folks. Elders there began screening prospective members for past divorces. They also issued a decree that no divorced person may preach or teach from the pulpit. That arbitrary and extremely unbiblical rule assumes that being divorced is sinful. Let’s explore this further.

IS GAMBLING A SIN? #1

IS GAMBLING A SIN? #1

A Christian recently said in casual conversation that he occasionally purchased lottery tickets. Others have acknowledged they went to Las Vegas or American Indian casinos from time to time. They set a limit on what they could lose, say $300. In their opinion it was nothing more than budgeting for entertainment. Yet the Bible says it is a work of the flesh. Consider Galatians 5:19-20:

MORMON BLOOD ATONEMENT: MORE BLASPHEMY

MORMON BLOOD ATONEMENT: MORE BLASPHEMY

In an article about the firing quad execution of killer Ronald Lee Gardner, The Salt Lake City Tribune carried an article entitled, “’Firing Squad Sparks Talk of Mormon ‘Blood Atonement.’” Gardner insisted on execution by that unusual and antiquated method. Peggy Fletcher, the author of the article, wrote, “After convicted killer Ronnie Lee Gardner announced his intention to be executed by firing squad, national and international reporters suggested it was a throwback to the wild, wild West.” Some Utahns, though, had a different explanation for why such an anachronistic execution technique remained an option in the 21st century: “blood atonement.”

A CHRISTIAN APPROACH TO HOMOSEXUALITY

A CHRISTIAN APPROACH TO HOMOSEXUALITY

Homosexuality was not new to the New Testament church, and some successfully repented. 1 Cor 6:9-10 declares, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites…will inherit the kingdom of God.” Contrary to modern views, the inspired text proves that everyone can repent, including those with same sex involvements.
