The teaching that Christians must only marry other Christians is error. I call it a “Bible Belt Doctrine,” because it might work where there are a lot of Christians, but not in areas where Christians are few. Teachers of this falsehood argue that one who marries a non-Christian is “unequally yoked” (2 Cor. 6:14). But what does the Bible say?
A Christian college psychology professor and counselor said in a private conversation that he believes 100% of those in relationships are sexually active. If he is even close to accurate, intimacy outside of marriage is now the norm, even for Christians, and much teaching on fornication is desperately needed.

Consider 1 Corinthians 7:39:
A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord (NKJV).
Some assume the phrase “in the Lord” restricts widows to marry only Christians. I do not believe that is a proper understanding of the passage for the following reasons:
