THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON: THE WHOLE COUNCIL OF GOD (Bible Issues)

THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON: THE WHOLE COUNCIL OF GOD (Bible Issues)

Can the New Testament be trusted?

Why are 27 books included in the New Testament and others excluded? Did the 350-year-old church which helped settle the New Testament canon, and at the same time began to drift from the apostles’ faith, allow their changing convictions to influence the canon, or is the New Testament “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27)?

“Canon,” Latin for “standard,” refers to the books of the New Testament which govern Christianity. Jesus gave his apostles divine authority in Matt. 10:40: “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.” The twelve spoke for heaven from Jesus’s ascension until the completion of God’s final authority, the New Testament. A canon wasn’t yet needed.

FACTS TO PROVE THE ACCURACY OF THE BIBLE (Bible Issues)

FACTS TO PROVE THE ACCURACY OF THE BIBLE (Bible Issues)

Can the Bible be trusted?

Philippians 3:18 says, “…Many walk who…are enemies of the cross of Christ.”  Because the Bible forbids fake faith, some foes reject it as mistake-filled. Consider the Watchtower Magazine article, “50,000 Errors in the Bible,” and Mormons’ sidelining the Bible as “accurate insofar as it is correctly translated.” Original writings, or autographs, are not available, so bibles result from years of copies.  CAN we trust the Bible’s accuracy?  Before continuing, please select subscribe, the thumbs up icon, and the notification bell. Your support is deeply appreciated.

Some may object, “Autographs of other books survive.” True. Benjamin Franklin’s handwritten autobiography is displayed in a California museum. But BIBLE evidence must be compared with that of other ANCIENT books.

KNOW THE 3 SIGNS OF THE SECOND COMING (Bible Issues)

When is the 2nd coming of Christ?

Jesus promised, “…I will come again…that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3).  1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 provides details:

…The Lord… will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God…the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive…shall be caught up…to meet the Lord in the air, and…we shall always be with the Lord.”

THREE BIBLE VERSES CRUSH MORMONISM (Mormonism Exposed

THREE BIBLE VERSES CRUSH MORMONISM (Mormonism Exposed

The Bible vs. Mormonism

The yawning mantra of Latter Day Saints is that the Bible is God’s word insofar as it is correctly translated. Yet, archeology, the source of the many ancient scripture copies that have resulted in our modern Bibles, is Mormonism’s worst nightmare. In the fifth video in this playlist, a letter is read from the Smithsonian stating there is not a shred of archeological evidence for the Book of Mormon. In fact, evidence contradicts the book, riddled with silly mistakes and ridiculous errors that only the most gullible could believe.

On the other hand, the Bible is accurate. The deeper the archeologist digs, the greater the evidence for its correctness. The discovery of the Old Testament scriptures with the Dead Sea Scrolls, produced before Christ, and found preserved in caves in the late 1940s, are virtually identical to the Old Testament text of our time. It is not hard to imagine why Mormons claim to be uncertain about the scriptures: three simple Bible passages crush Mormonism.

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CHILDREN OF DIVORCE TOWARD THEIR PARENTS

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CHILDREN OF DIVORCE TOWARD THEIR PARENTS

One reason God hates divorce (Mal. 2:16) may be the damage it causes to children. Clinical psychologist Diane Medved lists “normal byproducts of divorce” on children:

     -Sadness and depression
     -Intense anger
     -Concern about being cared for
-Regression, lack of normal development, or return to dependency.

DOES GOD HAVE A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE? #1

DOES GOD HAVE A PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE? #1

Gary Friesen in his book, Decision Making and the Will of God, discusses what he calls the “traditional view” among evangelicals: God has predetermined every detail of each person’s life. The goal of prayer for guidance is not to acquire wisdom for proper decisions. Rather, it is to persuade God to reveal His ideal will. For example, imagine a seminary student upon graduation. He has opportunities to go to Africa and India as a missionary or preach for a local congregation in Los Angeles. Unlike a graduate of a preaching school or Christian college with the same choices, the Evangelical does not pray for wisdom to make a proper decision. He rather prays for God to reveal His will. Ideally, God has every detail of the man’s life mapped out. The young preacher strives in prayer to find out which congregation God wants him to serve.

CAN CHRISTIANS WITNESS AND TESTIFY TODAY?

CAN CHRISTIANS WITNESS AND TESTIFY TODAY?

Past generations of Christians believed modern “witnessing” and “testifying” are false doctrines. Sadly, it is not uncommon to hear some ministers “witness” and “testify” to what God’s providence has done for them. Along with some rap stars, the Kardashians, and several worldly performers, these preachers declare ad nauseum how blessed they are. And they do not mean with eternal salvation.
